Research Interests
My research was centered on reproduction and development in a spectrum of species ranging from marine invertebrates (particularly polychaete worms) to hamsters. In retirement, I still maintain an office on campus and am involved in a collaborative project with a colleague in Northern Australia (Darwin), attempting to describe and understand a new and peculiar species of polychaete annelid worm which branches throughout the canals of a tropical, shallow-water sponge. Branching worms are extremely rare and until now have been inaccessible (in the deep sea). This species should make studies on growth and development possible for the first time. I am also writing up residual data on other polychaetes which remain in my files.
